Choosing the Right String Instrument Size
Determining the correct string instrument size is critical for a positive student experience. An instrument that is too large can be extremely difficult to play and one that is too small can promote the development of bad technique.Violin & Viola
To determine the appropriate instrument size, measure the length from neck to wrist when the student's arm is fully extended.
Use the following chart for proper selection:

|---|---|---|
| 23" | 4/4 | 14" |
| 22" | 3/4 | 13" |
| 20" | 1/2 | 12" |
